Forty-eight students from Thomas Adams School joined with other secondary schools for The 3-18 Education Trust’s inaugural music event last Friday.
Students along with their music teachers from The Priory School in Shrewsbury, St Martin’s School in Oswestry, William Brookes School in Much Wenlock gathered at Thomas Adams School to perform as a massed orchestra.
The young musicians performed four songs together – “Don’t Stop Believin’ – Journey, “Shake It Off” – Taylor Swift, “Hallelujah” – Leonard Cohen and their final piece, “Danger Zone” from the film, Top Gun. It was a fabulous performance and a great experience for all involved.
Rebecca Heywood, Director of Music at The Thomas Adams School, organised the event and said “This came about from our Music Network meetings which I started last year within my role as Trust Improvement Consultant for Music. It is really exciting to celebrate music making with the Trust and I hope that we can be involved with more events.”
Further performances and events are planned for later in the academic year to celebrate the accomplishments of The 3-18 Education Trust community.
