As part of the National Year of Reading, Year 8 students were delighted to welcome prize-winning author Nathanael Lessore to school for an engaging and inspiring visit.
During the session, Nathanael spoke about his books, his journey as a writer and the importance of reading. Students also gained valuable advice on how to become stronger, more confident writers, with Nathanael sharing practical tips and personal experiences from his career.
There was plenty of enthusiasm throughout the event, including some lively discussion about football and the possibility of Arsenal F.C. winning the Premier League!
Students took part in an energetic Q&A session, asking thoughtful and insightful questions about writing, creativity and publishing. Nathanael praised the quality of the questions and encouraged students to continue reading widely and developing their own ideas and stories.
Following the talk, students had the opportunity to meet Nathanael and have copies of his books signed. We are also delighted to now have signed copies of his four latest books available to borrow from the school library.
It was a fantastic opportunity for students to hear directly from a successful contemporary author and to be inspired by the power of reading and storytelling.
