Students at our Sixth Form have supported the Rotary Club of Shrewsbury Darwin’s Books4Home initiative by donating books for children to enjoy at home.
Head Student Bethany Williams and fellow Head Student Tom Davies presented the donated books to the Rotary Club. The team will now sort the books and pass them on to schools supporting children who may not otherwise own books of their own.
The Books4Home initiative encourages children to read by allowing them to choose a book, take it home and keep it forever. Rotary clubs across the country support the scheme and help thousands of children discover the joy of reading.
Colin and Jane from the Rotary Club of Shrewsbury Darwin visited Thomas Adams Sixth Form to collect the donations before taking them away for sorting and distribution.
We would like to thank all of our Sixth Form students, families and members of the wider community who donated books to support the project. Your kindness and generosity will make a real difference to local children and families.
We are also very proud of Bethany and Tom for helping to organise and support this important community initiative.
