Careers Advice at Thomas Adams

Careers Advice at Thomas Adams

Thomas Adams has an integrated careers programme and it is crucial for students, parents and staff to have first class up-to-date Careers information.

Careers education at the school focuses around three areas;

  • Careers Education within the Curriculum
  • Work Experience
  • Careers Information

The curriculum allows students to develop skills and become more aware of opportunities in their studied subjects, as well as developing employability skills such as team work and presenting. Work Experience gives students the opportunity to learn skills related to a job and gain an insight into a profession. Career information is available through our in-house independent Careers Adviser and the school’s use of the Kudos Careers software.

This Careers section on the website is divided into 4 sections. Click on the links below for your area:

Careerometer

Careerometer can be used to explore and compare key information about occupations, help you learn about different occupations and identify potential careers.

It provides access to a selection of UK headline data relating to pay, weekly hours of work and future employment prospects for different occupations, as well as description of the occupation. Simply type in the title of the job you are interested in and the widget provides a series of options from which you can select the most relevant to you. You can then look up another two occupations and compare. You can also select ‘display the UK average’ and compare the information with the occupation you have selected.
