Louise Surprised by Colleagues
Colleagues at Thomas Adams School gathered yesterday to celebrate a fantastic achievement. Louise Rotherham has been named Academy Team Star of the Year 2025. At the end of lunch service, the team surprised her with a special presentation.
Louise was presented with a framed certificate, a bouquet of flowers and £1,000 in vouchers. Everyone raised a non-alcoholic drink to mark the moment, and team members received chocolates as part of the celebration. The atmosphere was warm, proud and well deserved.
Mark Argent, Regional Operations Director, and Kevin Green, Operations Director, both from Academy were both delighted to present Louise with her award.
Mark Argent commented:
“I have experienced a great working ethos from Louise. A ‘can do’ attitude and continued commitment have been very evident under very challenging circumstances, and she continues to strive for excellence daily.”
Louise’s Dedication
Louise has played a key role in supporting Neil, our former Catering Manager, with the day-to-day catering provision. Throughout her time in the role, she has consistently demonstrated a positive, proactive approach. Cheerful, approachable and always willing to help, Louise has been highly valued by both colleagues and students alike.
Last year, Louise was nominated by colleagues and awarded Team Member of the Month in March 2025. As a result, she progressed to the Academy Team Star of the Year award, which recognises the hard work, reliability and professionalism demonstrated by team members each day.
Mark Cooper, Headteacher, and Joanne Jones, Business Manager, attended the celebration and joined the surprise. Both nominated Louise for Team Member of the Month in March 2025. That nomination led to her being put forward for the prestigious You’re a Star award.
Mark Cooper, Headteacher, added:
“Louise is an excellent member of staff. She is always upbeat and nothing is too much trouble. Louise gets on well with students — always smiling and approachable.”
