We are proud to share that our PE Department has been presented with The Peter Haile Secondary School Achievement Award at the Shropshire Schools Sports Association awards evening, held on Thursday 26th February at Wrekin College.

This prestigious award recognises sustained success in PE and sport over the past year. Notably, this marks the third consecutive year that we have achieved the School Sports Gold Award — a testament to the department’s dedication, expertise and commitment to providing high-quality sporting opportunities for all students.

Over the past year, our students have enjoyed significant success across a wide range of sports. Football, tennis, flag football, girls’ cricket, handball, rounders and badminton have all been particular highlights, with strong performances, competitive spirit and impressive teamwork demonstrated throughout the seasons.

In addition to sporting achievements, the award also reflects the department’s academic excellence. Outstanding results in BTEC Sport at Level 2 and Level 3 further underline the strength of our provision, supporting students to succeed both practically and academically.

The evening also brought individual recognition. Isaac Vickery received an award for his exceptional achievements in cycling and mountain biking, celebrating his dedication, talent and commitment to his sport.

We extend our congratulations to the entire PE team and to all students who contribute so positively to sport within our school community. Their enthusiasm and determination continue to inspire success at every level.
