Thomas Adams School has been recognised for our work in promoting the game at the recent Cricket Shropshire presentation night held at the Albright Hussey Hotel near Shrewsbury.

Top Marks for School

Head of PE, Ceri Kempster, won the ‘Secondary School Teacher of the Year’ award at the presentation. Katie Rushton, Cricket Shropshire Coach says “Ceri is a fantastic ambassador for her school and the young people. In doing so she has enthused many girls and supported their transition to the local cricket club.”

“Not only does she support the pupils in school with their cricket, she is the driving force behind their competition entry and victories. The school have held both the Under 13 and Under 15 regional Girls Chance to Compete trophies over the last two years.

Young Ambassadors Scheme

Four students collected certificates on the night for their involvement in the Young Ambassadors Programme. Joel Tomlinson, Ben Smith, Ellie Taylor and Scarlett Bowen have all been involved in their local cricket club’s volunteer workforce. During the programme, the Young Ambassadors complete a First Aid course and are given officials and activator training. They are also required to complete a minimum of twenty hours of activity supporting their clubs during the summer.
