Headteacher, Mr Cooper, recently attended the Draper’s Company annual educational dinner. The event took place at the Drapers Hall; one of the most magnificent venues in London. The annual dinner commemorates the Company’s educational links.

The dinner gave Thomas Adams a great opportunity to celebrate recent achievements. These include winning the Draper’s Den trophy at the Livery Academy Awards. A Level Business studies presented their business ideas in a “Dragon’s Den” style competition. The win included £5000 for the school and £1000 to charity.

Mr Cooper was joined by the Head of Boarding, Mrs N Cooper and the Head of Business Studies, Mrs A Glover. Also in attendance was Keira Kavanagh and Loveday Cookson, Head Students from Year 13. Keira is also the CEO of team ‘Scribble’ who successfully impressed judges at the recent Draper’s Den competition.

Highlights

Keira said “Attending the dinner was an amazing opportunity that I am incredibly grateful to have been a part of. I was fortunate enough to be sat amongst interesting people. All of whom were attending for different reasons such as music, textiles and finance. There were also students from schools that the Drapers own. Some of the wonderful people that I met I am keeping in touch with. One of the highlights of my evening was Thomas Adams being congratulated by the Master in his speech for winning the Livery Academy awards that I took part in”.

Year 12 student Emilia Ramsay also attended the dinner after winning the Key Stage 4 Drapers Young Textile Design Competition in 2021.

Emilia said after the event “The Draper’s dinner was a lovely evening with a great opportunity to meet and speak to new people. I’m very grateful for this experience in an amazing venue”.

Head Student, Loveday Cookson added “attending the dinner was an incredible experience. It was an amazing opportunity to expand my horizons, interacting with people from a wide variety of backgrounds. Draper’s Hall was beautiful, full of so much rich history. The London Youth Choir performed for us; only adding to what was a truly lovely evening in great company”.
