A Taste of France Comes to Life for Year 11
Year 11 students recently took part in an exciting French theatre experience that brought language learning to life.
Actors Esther Lebeau and Félix Paré from Onatti Productions, a touring theatre company based at Warwick University, delivered the performance. From the opening moments, the show captured the audience’s attention. The play RSVP used sharp comedy, fast-paced action and energetic dance moves to reflect modern French culture. The entire performance ran to under an hour, keeping pupils fully engaged throughout.
Audience participation proved to be a real highlight. Several enthusiastic Year 11 volunteers joined the actors on stage, adding to the humour and energy of the performance.
The experience also supported students’ learning in the classroom. Students received a clear synopsis of the storyline, extracts from the script, and a useful selection of French vocabulary and phrases to reinforce their studies.
Year 11 thoroughly enjoyed this immersive experience. It provided an excellent opportunity to see the French language used in a lively, real-world context beyond the classroom.
