Our Health and Social Care students had an incredible opportunity to explore future careers during a visit to the Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Hospital at Gobowen. Twelve students attended a dedicated careers day where they engaged with a wide range of departments, including Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Operating Department, Dietetics, Diagnostic Radiography, Nursing, and Biomedical Research.

The event offered hands-on experiences such as scientific experiments, CPR practice, and meeting Pete – the hospital’s lifelike training mannequin. Students also spoke with medical students, nursing apprentices, and representatives from local universities, gaining valuable insight into pathways within healthcare.

Gobowen Hospital is committed to supporting young people through its work experience programme, offering placements across many departments throughout the year. It was an inspiring day that showcased the exciting opportunities available in the healthcare sector.
