Young Musicians Raise Over £2,150 for Cancer Research UK

The recent Clive Church Concert proved to be an unforgettable evening of music, talent and generosity, with performers and supporters helping to raise more than £2,150 for Cancer Research UK and Clive Church.

Initial accounting from the event confirmed that over £1,910 was raised through ticket sales, refreshments and additional donations. With Gift Aid included, the final total is expected to exceed £2,150.

Organisers thanked everyone involved for making the evening such a success, particularly the talented young musicians from both Thomas Adams School and Shrewsbury School.

Among those performing were Thomas Adams students Thomas Booth and Thomas Taylor-Evans, who both received exceptional feedback for their performances.

Thomas Booth, a talented trombonist, was praised for his poise and “lovely rich tone”, while pianist Thomas Taylor-Evans delivered a performance that left a lasting impression on both organisers and audience members alike.

Speaking after the concert, the organiser said:

“What a couple of wonderful musicians you have there. What a poised trombonist Thomas B is – a lovely rich tone. Thomas T-E stunned me – I never expected such a sound, such articulation and range in such a challenging piece from such a young and obviously nervous player. Several members of the audience said they thought his performance was the highlight of the evening.”

The event was a wonderful celebration of young musical talent while supporting an important cause, and everyone involved should feel incredibly proud of their contribution.

Plans are already underway for next year’s concert, with further details expected later in the year.
