Thirty-six students from The Thomas Adams School enjoyed an unforgettable long weekend in France, packed with adventure, culture and plenty of sunshine.
The trip began on Friday 26th June as students travelled across the Channel, arriving at their château in the late afternoon. After settling in, everyone enjoyed a delicious evening meal before rounding off the day with a traditional French crêpe evening.
Saturday started in true French style with fresh croissants before the group headed to Parc Astérix. Students spent the day enjoying the thrilling rollercoasters, testing their bravery on the biggest rides and cooling off on the park’s water attractions. After returning to the château, the evening included dinner, swimming and entertainment, giving everyone time to relax after an exciting day.
On Sunday, the group travelled into the heart of Paris for a full day of sightseeing. Students climbed the Eiffel Tower to enjoy spectacular views across the city before taking a cruise along the River Seine aboard the Bateaux Parisiens. Along the way, they admired some of Paris’ most famous landmarks, including Notre-Dame Cathedral, the Académie Française and the Musée d’Orsay.
The afternoon continued with a coach tour taking in the Arc de Triomphe, the Champs-Élysées and Place de la Concorde before a visit to the Louvre and some free time for shopping. Back at the château, students enjoyed another swim, an evening meal and even had the opportunity to sample a French delicacy – escargots!
After one final French breakfast of croissants and pain au chocolat on Monday morning, the group began their journey home.
The trip provided students with the opportunity to experience French culture, visit world-famous landmarks and create wonderful memories with friends. It was an action-packed weekend filled with laughter, new experiences and moments that will be remembered for years to come.
