Year 12 Health and Social Care students visited the annual NHS Careers Advice Workshop hosted by the Robert Jones & Agnes Hunt Hospital (RJAH) at Gobowen.

Students got to meet practitioners from many different NHS departments from the researchers looking at innovative ways of treating arthritis, to the operating theatre staff, the radiographers, physiotherapists and occupational therapists.

They also spoke to people from universities at Staffordshire, Chester and Wrexham about the huge variety of health care courses on offer and the international opportunities available.

The highlight of the day was spending time in the simulation lab, where they met Pete, a life-sized mannequin to identify patient risks.

Thank you to the RJAH for this amazing opportunity – a really inspirational visit.
