The Safer School initiative is a security/safety process promoted by Shropshire Council and supported by West Mercia Police.
Recently, Mr Cooper with the support of Mr Neale, held a Safer School Group meeting involving governors, staff, the Police and myself representing Shropshire Council.
It was refresher meeting following the school’s ‘Safer School’ accreditation in 2015 and the main purpose of this meeting was to re-establish the Safer School process.
It was an enthusiastic meeting with excellent contribution by those present. We reflected on the recently installed security measures and planned for the future.
This planning also included consulting parents and students for their views on security and safety.
Later in the year, a further Safer School Group will be held.
