History

Work for 9×1, 9×3 and 9×4

Hi all, I’d like you to produce a project over the next few weeks on World War Two. You will need to research this on the internet and cover the key points. It can be done as a A3 poster, a leaflet (handwritten or on the computer) or as a Powerpoint presentation. (Similar to your year 8 Slavery Posters)

You will need to include pictures and text. Please don’t just copy large chunks of information from Wikipedia, I don’t want 25 the same! The things you will need to cover are:

Causes of World War Two
Dunkirk – What happened? Victory or defeat?
The Battle of Britain – What happened? Why is it important?
Pearl Harbour – What happened? Why is it important?
D-Day – What happened? Why is it important?
Atomic Bomb – What happened? Why is it important?
A conclusion on which is the most important event and why.

Any questions let me know. The priority is revision but I’d like this project to be completed to a good standard aswell. The plan is to display it on the walls in room 51!  Any questions, please let me know, either on here or by email : sjp@thomasadams.net

From Mr Williams

The task is to create a project on life in Britain during WW2, This should cover aspects such as the Blitz, rationing and evacuees. Your work could include diaries, posters, radio broadcasts made by Winston Churchill, mind maps.

History – War Homework Tasks

History Work

Hi all. The task I would like you to do is a project on ‘LONDON IN THE 1660s’. The two events to study are the Great Plague in 1665 and the Great Fire of London in 1666. Consider the causes and results of each event. Your work could be in the form of a diary, posters, essay, mind map, etc. Use these links to help you: https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/guides/zd3wxnb/revision/2      What do you think? – The Great Plague – KS3 History Revision – BBC Bitesize

For Classes 8X2, 8Y3 & 8Y4

Hi all, the work I would like you to complete is a project on Slavery. This should be an ongoing project over the next few weeks. It can be completed by hand or on a computer (word, powerpoint etc)

In your project you need to include:

The middle passage and life on a slave ship

  • How they are captured
  • The slave auction
  • Their lives on the plantations and the work that they do
  • Any other information about life as a Slave
  • The abolition of Slavery

Slavery Resources
Slavery project slide

Obviously we haven’t done the abolition of slavery or their lives on plantations so you will need to research this. I am expecting it to contain text and pictures – it can be done as a poster, powerpoint or leaflet. Please find attached a powerpoint and slavery booklet to help.
