Our wonderful Science Technician, Pat Bates, has retired after 31 years service at Thomas Adams School.

To mark the occasion, current and past Science Heads of Department, teachers and technicians met up.

Dennis Wilson was Head of Science in 1976 when the Secondary Modern and Grammar School merged to make Thomas Adams School.

Derek Sparkes took over as Head of Science in 1998 after Dennis Wilson retired. Dennis had been in the post for 26 years.

In 2011, Patrick Phillips became Head of Science and was in the role for 10 years.

Our current Head of Science, Tom Cuthbert, became Head of Science in 2021.

Pat is retiring after 31 years at the school. Pat joined in 1993 when John Major was Prime Minister and the Channel Tunnel had just been built!

A fabulous reunion for a fabulous lady. Enjoy your well-deserved retirement, Pat. You will be missed!
