Four students from Thomas Adams School have achieved national recognition after their work was selected for publication in a National Literacy Trust anthology.
The competition, themed “Stories in Sound”, invited young people to explore the power of sound through creative writing. The challenge formed part of the National Year of Reading, which celebrates the importance of reading and storytelling in inspiring young people.
Our English Department entered the competition during Key Stage 3 lessons, encouraging students to develop their creativity and writing skills. With hundreds of entries submitted by schools across the country, we are incredibly proud that four Thomas Adams students were chosen for inclusion in the published anthology.
Each of the successful students has received their own copy of the anthology to keep, and an additional copy has been presented to our school library so that their accomplishment can be shared and celebrated by the wider school community.
This is a wonderful recognition of the talent, imagination and dedication shown by our students. We are delighted to see their work published alongside other young writers from across the UK and hope their success inspires even more students to discover the joy of creative writing.
