Adams House boarders recently welcomed Andy from Lingen Davies Cancer Support to school to celebrate the success of their Sunflower Sprint fundraising efforts and present a cheque for an incredible £957.41.

Last month, 15 boarders and the Head of Boarding took part in the Sunflower Sprint, raising funds in support of the charity’s Sunflower Appeal. Through the generosity of family, friends and the wider school community, the team raised an impressive total which, together with Gift Aid, was match funded by Telford & Wrekin Council to reach the final figure of £1,776.07.

The cheque was presented during a special visit from Lingen Davies Cancer Support, giving students the opportunity to see first-hand the impact their fundraising will have on local cancer services.

The timing of the presentation was particularly significant, as the Sunflower Appeal has now surpassed its remarkable £1 million fundraising target. The appeal supports projects that improve cancer care across Shropshire, Telford and Mid Wales, helping to provide enhanced facilities, equipment and support for patients and their families.

We are incredibly proud of everyone who took part in the event and grateful to everyone who donated. Their efforts have contributed to an important milestone and will help make a real difference to people affected by cancer throughout the region.
