Thomas Adams U15 Rugby Report : Battling Through The Storms

The Thomas Adams Under 15 rugby team recently faced a series of tough matches, showing remarkable resilience, sportsmanship, and determination, even when the weather seemed determined to thwart their efforts. Despite torrential rain and challenging conditions, the team played with vigour, enthusiasm, and superb conduct throughout, making us proud.

The first match against Church Stretton School was a fantastic display of teamwork and focus. In relentless downpours, the boys adapted well, showing impressive ball handling and tactical play despite the slippery conditions. Their determination paid off as they secured a solid victory over their opponents. The wet weather may have slowed the pace, but it certainly didn’t dampen the team’s spirit as they worked tirelessly to dominate the game from start to finish.

Buoyed by their success, Thomas Adams then faced Wrekin College. The rain continued to fall, turning the pitch into a quagmire, but the team’s enthusiasm was undeterred. They delivered another excellent performance, adjusting their game to the increasingly difficult conditions. Through grit and determination, they outplayed their opponents, securing a second win in challenging circumstances. The forwards worked relentlessly in the scrum, and the backs exploited the little space available, making the most of every opportunity.

The final fixture against Corbet School was a closely contested match. The rain was unrelenting, creating near-impossible handling conditions. Despite this, the boys played with tremendous heart, keeping the pressure on their opponents right until the final whistle. Unfortunately, the game ended in a narrow loss, but the team’s effort was outstanding. Their energy and drive in such testing conditions were commendable, and they kept their heads up despite the outcome.

Throughout this challenging run of games, the team’s superb conduct, enthusiasm, and unwavering spirit shone through. The atrocious weather tested their resolve, but Thomas Adams U15s proved they could rise to the challenge, showing not only skill but the character that defines true rugby players.

Man of The Match, and also his first game for the school on the rugby field, was Edward Whitfield, who is dedicating himself to the completely wrong sport, and should be out with us more!
