Cambridge Trip

Five of Adams’ students recently enjoyed a residential trip to St John’s College, University of Cambridge.  Students experienced life at a Russell Group university, attending supervisions with lecturers, punting on the river and staying in undergraduate accommodation.

BREXIT or Stay in Europe?

On Tuesday 14th June Thomas Adams College hosted a debate on the EU referendum at Wem Town Hall. This was an opportunity for the students to gain a better insight into what could happen if we stay in the EU or if we leave. For the remain campaign there were three speakers. Graeme Currie from the Labour party, Emma Bullard from the Green party and Phil Bennion from the Liberal Democrats.

Unfortunately no speakers from the Leave campaign attended, so student Josh Towers and Business Studies subject leader, Simon Moss spoke from a Brexit point of view. The debate was a real success and the students voted unanimously in favour for staying in Europe with a 68% majority. Votes in favour of leaving got 23%, whilst 9% were undecided.
