On Tuesday 3 March, Year 12 students travelled to the Manchester Central Convention Complex in Manchester to attend the UCAS Higher Education Convention. The visit gave students the chance to start exploring their options after sixth form and begin thinking about their future plans.

More than 130 universities and colleges attended the event. Students spoke directly with representatives, asked questions about courses and student life, and collected prospectuses and course information.

Students also explored alternative pathways. Several organisations shared information about apprenticeships, employment routes and career skills. As a result, students gained a broader understanding of the opportunities available to them after sixth form.

Throughout the day, students attended a range of seminars. These sessions covered key topics including student life, taking a gap year, choosing the right university and course, and completing the UCAS application process. The seminars helped students start planning the important decisions they will make over the next year.

Overall, the trip provided a valuable opportunity for students to gather information, ask questions and begin shaping their future aspirations. Everyone also had time afterwards for a shopping trip to The Trafford Centre. A great day enjoyed by all!
