Celebrating World Book Day at Thomas Adams School!
World Book Day is just around the corner, on Thursday 6th March!
This year, we’re celebrating with the theme “Read Your Way”, highlighting the importance of choosing when, where, and what you read.
What’s Happening at School:
- Assemblies: We’ve been discussing various reading materials, including books, graphic novels, magazines, audiobooks, and blogs.
- Activities: Enjoy book-themed quizzes, receive £1 World Book Day book tokens, and participate in the design-a-book-token competition.
- Library: We’ve extended our library hours and added over 400 new fiction books since last World Book Day.
- Competition: Time for students to get creative and DESIGN A NATIONAL BOOK TOKEN in their annual competition! National Book Tokens, are inviting children of all ages to share their creativity – and their love for books and reading – by designing their own fabulous gift cards. Six winning entrants will bag HUNDREDS of pounds worth of National Book Tokens for their schools and themselves – find out more and how to enter here. You can pick up an entry form in the library.
Get Involved at Home:
- Share and Discuss: Talk about your favourite books and discuss what your students are reading.
- Donate: If you have books in good condition that you no longer need, consider donating them to our school library.
At Thomas Adams, we believe that every day is a “book day.” Let’s make this World Book Day special by celebrating the joy of reading together! 📚✨
