Shropshire Council have provided the funding to carry out an extensive refurbishment of the Art building located on the Sixth Form site of Thomas Adams School.  For the last twelve months, the Art building has been out of use due to subsidence problems.  Property Services Group have carried out the work which includes underpinning the building, constructing a new roof and installing windows.  New toilets have been installed as well as flooring, lighting and decoration throughout.  The refurbishment is now complete with students being able to access the building when they return in September.

To celebrate the re-opening of the building, a small ceremony with refreshments took place today with invited guests.  Guests included Terry Kerr and Pete Brown from Property Services Group, together with trustees of the Adams Foundation; Wing Commander Claire Harrison and Gareth Jenkins (Governor & Shrewsbury Draper).  Staff and sixth form students were also in attendance to be the first inside to have a look at the transformation.  Students are looking forward to studying their A Level Art studies in the renovated building from September.
