Embark on a new chapter

Year 7 Admissions

To apply for a Year 7 place:

  • Apply through Shropshire Council by 31 October in the academic year before your child is due to start.
  • You’ll receive your offer notification from Shropshire Council on 1 March.

If you apply for a school place and are advised there is no place available, you’re entitled to appeal to an independent appeals panel. For more information on the process please visit Shropshire Council Appeals.

We recommend applying by mid-December, but we accept applications throughout the year.

Minimum entry requirement: 5 GCSEs at Grade 4 or above.

For those looking to join us in Year 12 at our Sixth Form while also boarding, please note that you will need to complete both the boarding application and a separate Sixth Form application. We look forward to welcoming you to Adams Boarding House, where students thrive both academically and personally.

Entry Points and In-Year Admissions

Main Entry Points

Year 7

  • Apply via Shropshire Council by 31 October.
  • Sixth Form: Apply directly to the school using our online form.

In-Year Admissions & Mid-Term Transfers

Shropshire Council coordinates all in-year admissions.

To apply:
1. Complete the online application via Synergy – Shropshire Council
2. Your application will be processed in line with our admissions criteria.
3. You’ll receive a decision letter from the School Admissions Team.

We encourage prospective families to visit the school, please contact us to arrange a tour.

Your Transition

Moving from Outside Shropshire?

If you’re relocating or live in a neighbouring county (including Wales):

  • Apply through your local authority.
  • They will liaise with Shropshire Council on your behalf.
  • Applications from outside our catchment are welcome.
