Target Grades

Assessment Systems

Setting Target Grades
Targets are set using SISRA Analytics, combining KS2 data with national benchmarks to establish ambitious yet achievable grade targets. Adjustments are regular and data-driven.

Flight Paths and Tracking
For KS3 and KS4, students follow flight paths based on KS2 entry-levels, featuring Core Assessments (CAs), mock exams, and regular tracking. Reports reflect whether students are “Above,” “On,” “Near,” or “Below” target.

KS5 Assessment
A-Level and BTEC students receive continual assessments aligned to flight paths. Reports monitor interim CA performance, guided by national KS4-to-KS5 benchmarks.

FAQs

How are target grades set?

These are calculated via SISRA based on national data and revisited yearly.

What if I disagree with a grade?

You can request a review of marking from the exam board.  We generally recommend giving permission to the exams officer for your papers to be downloaded and looked at by a member of subject staff first.

Can I re-sit exams in the autumn?

Yes, autumn retakes are available for GCSE Maths and English only.

When will I receive my certificates?

Certificates arrive in school at the beginning of November and are usually ready for collection by the end of November. Certificates will be either be presented at a Celebration Evening, or should be collected from the exams office, either by the student, or by a person nominated by the student in writing.
