Discover Your Potential

At Thomas Adams Sixth Form, we believe in the power of choice, depth, and individual passion. Our carefully crafted curriculum offers not just subjects, but pathways to discovery, growth, and exceptional achievement. With our commitment to academic rigour and personalised support, we create an environment where every student can flourish.

Choosing Your Path

Playing to
Your Strengths

Embrace Your Natural Talents. We firmly believe students perform best in subjects they genuinely enjoy. Which subjects sparked your curiosity at GCSE level? Which brought you the greatest satisfaction? Your strongest GCSE subjects often indicate where your natural aptitudes lie and where you’re most likely to excel.

Keeping Options Open. For many students, this stage is about maintaining flexibility whilst exploring possibilities. Unless you’re certain about specific career paths, such as medicine, veterinary science, or dentistry, requiring Biology and Chemistry, we encourage a diverse range of subject choices that keep multiple doors open.

Innovating Education

Redefining the
Learning Experience

Dedicated to your journey

Dedicated Support

Unlike many sixth forms, we provide five hours per subject for most courses in Year 12, ensuring meaningful engagement with academic experts who are passionate about their fields. This enhanced contact time allows for deeper exploration, richer discussions, and stronger foundations for your
A Level journey.

Master your chosen fields

Key Studies

We expect all students to select three subjects for an intensive two-year study, allowing you to develop genuine expertise and mastery. This focused approach enables you to delve deeply
into your chosen fields
whilst maintaining the
breadth necessary for
future opportunities.

Cultivating self-direction

Proactive Learning

Your timetable includes two hours of non-contact time daily, with one hour spent in our Study Hub under staff supervision. This structured independent study time develops essential skills for university and beyond, self-direction, research capabilities, and academic autonomy.

Study for your future career

Career Connections

Understanding Subject Requirements. Different career paths have varying academic demands. Engineering careers benefit from Mathematics and Further Mathematics, whilst Architecture thrives on a combination of Art or Graphics, Mathematics, Science, and portfolio development. These connections help inform your choices whilst maintaining academic passion as the priority.

Research and Discovery. The UCAS website provides excellent starting points for exploring university courses and career pathways. However, we encourage you to look beyond immediate career plans, many of our graduates pursue fascinating courses they’d never considered at the beginning of their A Level journey.
