Sports
Our on-site Sports Centre, equipped with a multi-use hall and a fully accessible fitness suite, provides excellent facilities for a variety of sports. Additionally, the nearby Wem Swimming Centre and our extensive playing fields support a wide range of activities, including:

Music & Theatre
Music plays a vital role in the life of Thomas Adams School. Our Music Centre offers excellent facilities, including recording studios and music technology resources. Students can participate in a variety of weekly musical activities, such as:

- Brass Ensemble
- Band
- AdJazz
Regular performances take place throughout the year, including large-scale concerts and recital evenings, both in and outside of school. Our annual school production offers students opportunities to engage as singers and performers.
Instrumental lessons are available at a subsidised rate, covering a range of instruments such as strings, woodwind, brass, voice, guitar, and percussion.

Tech fans will enjoy the Computer Club, while eco-conscious students can join the Eco Group or “Adams Aware” Environment Club. These clubs and societies help students explore causes they care about and contribute to positive change, both within the school and in the wider community.

Creative students may join the School Newspaper – “The Student’s Herald” to write, edit, and report school stories. For those who enjoy games, the Warhammer Club offers strategy gameplay and model building. All clubs and societies encourage teamwork, creativity, and leadership. Getting involved is a fun and rewarding way to make the most of school life and try something new, all in a welcoming and supportive setting.

Educational Visits and Trips
We offer a range of educational visits and trips, both domestically and internationally, to enrich students’ learning experiences:
- Curriculum-Related Trips: Fieldwork in Biology and Geography, visits to mosques or castles, and study or exchange visits to France.
- Recreational Visits: Trips to Arthog outdoor education centre, ski trips, and visits to London.
- Theatre Visits: Opportunities to attend performances ranging from Shakespeare to pantomime in venues such as Shrewsbury, Stoke, Liverpool, or Birmingham.

Students are encouraged to utilise the school’s facilities for independent study:
- Library: Open during lunchtime and after school for quiet study and research.
- IT Rooms: Available for students to complete assignments and explore digital resources.
