Our application journey runs throughout the academic year, with key events to support you every step of the way—from open days and taster sessions to consultations and enrolment. Whether you’re exploring your options or ready to apply, this timeline outlines everything you need to know.

Applications Open

  • Apply via our online application form below
  • We encourage early applications – especially by mid-December to secure places on popular courses.
  • You’ll be invited to a consultation appointment to ensure subject choices align with your goals. It’s also a chance for us to get to know you and for you to ask questions about your subjects and the Sixth Form.

Sixth Form Open Day & Evening

  • Meet subject tutors, students, and senior staff.
  • Take guided tours with our Student Ambassadors.
  • Explore A Level and BTEC options and get a feel for Sixth Form life.

Taster
Day

  • Sample a selection of Sixth Form subjects.
  • Ask questions and make informed decisions about your future studies.

December

Apply Window

  • Although applications are accepted throughout the year, December is the ideal time to apply.
  • Early applicants are more likely to secure places in competitive subjects

January – February

Support
Session

  • Attend a relaxed, informal consultation either at Thomas Adams or your current school.
  • Refine your subject choices and receive a conditional offer based on your predicted grades and aspirations.

June/July

Applicant Open Day

If you’ve applied and received an offer before May, you’ll be invited to our Applicant Open Day where you can:

 

  • Spend a full day experiencing Sixth Form life.
  • Meet teachers and future classmates.
  • Receive transition work to complete over the summer to help you prepare for A Levels or BTEC study.

GCSE Results & Admissions Day

  • Confirm your place at Thomas Adams Sixth Form.
  • Finalise subject choices.
  • Complete and submit your online Enrolment Form
  • External Students – evidence of results to be uploaded to your application profile
